RealDash

Data Multicast (Full version feature)

Data Multicast allows to build a network of RealDash instances that are capable of sharing all information between each other. Common use-case is having two display devices running RealDash, while another can control the screen of another by sharing inputs like 'Steering Wheel Button'.

All instances of RealDash must be in same local network in order to multicast the data. If devices are not in same network, you can configure one device as WiFi Hotspot and connect other devices to that.

Settings

  • 'Use Data Multicast'
    Enable/Disable multicast feature.
  • 'Host'
One of the devices in network must be set to run in 'Host' mode. The Host device creates a Network Service that other instances browse for and connect to.
  • 'Host IP Address'
Other devices must connect to Host IP address. You can check the IP address from the Host device' Data Multicast settings.
  • 'Multicast Port'
Define a multicast port and make sure it is same on every multicast device.
  • 'Select Multicast Values'
Opens a popup to select input values that this instance is multicasting to others. Try to avoid multicasting same values (like RPM) from multiple devices in same network since it will cause "value fighting" on receiving devices..
